TARA

TARA is a subdivision in Oxford, Mississippi. Oxford is a city in, and the county seat of, Lafayette County, Mississippi, United States. Founded in 1837, it was named after the British university city of Oxford in hopes of having the state university located there, which it did successfully attract. Oxford is the home of the University of Mississippi, founded in 1848, also commonly known as “Ole Miss”, although the university is officially located in University, Mississippi. Oxford has been named by USA Today as one of the top six college towns in the nation. It is included in The Best 100 Small Towns in America. Lafayette County consistently leads the state rankings in the lowest unemployment rate per quarter. Oxford City Schools are ranked as “Star” schools, the highest ranking available, and Lafayette County school systems are consistently ranked as “5-star” systems.

TARA is located off of the new College Hill Road and is a couple of minutes away from the College Hill area, Lamar Park, FNC Park, Goose Creek Fitness Club and W. Jackson Ave. At the same time, TARA is a beautiful, secluded and children friendly neighborhood, with a pond for serene family time or fishing.

Montesorri School is located right next to TARA. The homes in this neighborhood were built between the 1980s and the 2000s and one home does not resemble the other. You can choose among various styles: contemporary, traditional, country. TARA features sizable high quality homes with substantial lots smothered in hardwood trees, that provide a lot of privacy. The homes do not come up on the market too often. TARA neighborhood is very popular among families, as well as families with children.
